Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2026-07-21

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of CBAM.School (the “Service”), operated by RHND Innovations GmbH, a company registered in the Austrian company register (Firmenbuch) under number FN 609978b at the Vienna Commercial Court (Handelsgericht Wien), with its registered office at Dornbacher Straße 5 Top 2-3, 1170 Vienna, Austria (“CBAM.School”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The governing version of these Terms is the English version.

1. The Service and who may use it

CBAM.School provides online professional training on the EU and UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), including video lessons, written materials, practice tools, exams, a reviewed capstone, and a certificate of completion. The Service is intended for professional and business users acting in the course of their work.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at security@cbam.school if you suspect unauthorised use.

Authentication is provided through our identity provider. You must not share your account or allow anyone else to use it.

3. Membership, payment and billing

Access to the course is sold as a membership, billed through our payment processor, Stripe. The total price, taxes, billing period and what the membership includes are shown before you place the order. Any price change applies only to a future renewal. We will notify you before that renewal and you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

Unless stated otherwise, a membership renews automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Refunds and the statutory right of withdrawal are addressed in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase except taxes on our income.

4. Licence to use the content

All course videos, textbooks, exam banks, calculators, templates, and the CBAM.School name and marks (“Protected Content”) are owned by CBAM.School or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the Protected Content for your own learning while your membership is active. You may not copy, download (except where a download is expressly offered), redistribute, resell, publicly display, share your access, or circumvent any technical protection measure. These protections and our response to breach are part of these Terms.

You retain ownership of material you submit, including a capstone. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for the period reasonably necessary to host, copy, review, annotate and return that material, operate assessment and appeals, maintain required evidence, and enforce these Terms. You confirm that your submission does not contain personal or confidential information you are not authorised to provide. We do not use your submission for advertising or publish it without separate permission.

5. Certificates

On meeting the assessment requirements you may receive a CBAM.School certificate, which is our own practitioner credential. It is not an official or government-issued CBAM qualification, and no official CBAM credential currently exists. A certificate’s public verification status follows your membership and our verification records, and may show as expired or lapsed; we do not delete or backdate records.

6. Educational purpose — not professional advice

The Service provides education and orientation only. It is not legal, tax, customs or regulatory advice, and it does not create a professional-client relationship. CBAM rules change; every figure and tool in the Service carries a source and a “confirm against the official text” step, and you remain responsible for verifying the current law and for your own filings and decisions. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or the official regulatory sources.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: breaching any law; infringing others’ rights; attempting to gain unauthorised access; scraping, probing or overloading the Service; uploading malicious code; or using the Service to build a competing product. You are responsible for content you submit (for example, a capstone) and confirm you have the right to submit it.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service integrates third-party providers (for example, for authentication, payments, email, analytics and hosting) and may link to third-party sites, including our sister services. We are not responsible for third-party content or services, which are governed by their own terms.

9. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, and we may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified before they take effect. Where a change requires new agreement rather than notice under applicable law, we will request affirmative acceptance and record the new document version; silence or mere continued use will not substitute for consent where consent is legally required.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, for consumers, your statutory rights).

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on the educational content, and our total liability in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your membership at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms — for example, redistributing Protected Content, sharing access, or circumventing protection measures — using a proportionate response and, where practicable, notice. On termination, the licence in section 4 ends.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts competent for Vienna, Austria have jurisdiction. Nothing in this section deprives you, as a consumer, of the protection of mandatory provisions or of the courts of your country of habitual residence in the EU.
